Embracing Autism at 56: New YouTube Channel Raises Awareness and Offers Support
Today, I’m excited to announce the launch of my new YouTube channel, Embracing Autism at 56. As the title suggests, I was diagnosed with autism at the age of 56 after a lifetime of feeling different and misunderstood, wondering which planet I come from! 😉
My Journey to Diagnosis
Like many late-diagnosed autistics, my journey to diagnosis was long and winding. I always knew I was different, but I never suspected I was autistic. Finally, I had an explanation for all the things that had made me feel different my whole life.
My Mission
Now that I know I’m autistic, I’m on a mission to raise awareness about autism and to help other autistics get the support they need. That’s why I’ve created my new YouTube channel.
My YouTube Channel
On my channel, I share videos about my own experiences as an autistic adult, as well as information and resources about autism.
My Videos
In my videos, I cover a wide range of topics related to autism, including:
- What is autism?
- Signs and symptoms of autism
- Diagnosis and assessment
- Treatment and support
- Living with autism
- Alexithymia
- Telephonophobia…
- Planning and anticipation
- Self-talk
My Goals
My goal with my YouTube channel is to provide information and support to autistics of all ages, as well as their families and friends. I also want to raise awareness about autism and to challenge stereotypes.
If you’re interested in learning more about autism, I encourage you to subscribe to my YouTube channel. I also invite you to share your own stories and experiences in the comments section. Together, we can create a more inclusive and understanding world for all.
I hope you’ll join me on this journey as I embrace my autism and share my experiences with the world.
